What age does my child have to be to enroll?

Children enrolling in our PreK3 Program must be 3 years old by September and 4 years old by September 1 for our PreK4 Program. Children enrolling in Kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 1.

Is Mount Aviat accredited?

Yes, Mount Aviat is fully accredited by the Middle Atlantic States Accreditation Association. Mount Aviat is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence as well.

What is the Student to Teacher ratio?

Our Student to Teacher ratio is 14:1, lower on average than most local schools. A low ratio means our teachers are able to provide more one-on-one time with students, better manage their classes, recognize students' needs more easily and implement more effective teaching. 

Are uniforms required for students?

Yes, students in Grades 1-8 are required to wear the school uniform. Students in PreK and Kindergarten wear play clothing that reflects the Salesian spirit of our school. For additional information regarding uniforms, click here: uniforms.

What are the school hours?

Students arrive: 7:30-7:55 a.m.                Morning Prayer: 8:00 a.m.                                   Classes begin: 8:10 a.m.                                Closing Prayer & Dismissal: 3:00 p.m.     Remaining students to After Care: 3:15 p.m.     After Care closes: 5:30 p.m.

Is transportation offered?

The State of Pennsylvania offers bus transportation for resident students. All other students arrive and depart from school by car. Parents may arrange carpools if desired. 

Do you offer a tuition payment plan?

Yes, families enrolled at Mount Aviat are required to open a FACTS account to make financial payments to the school. Families have the option to make payments in full, semi-annually (July & January), quarterly (July, October, January, April) or monthly (July through May).

Is there a discount for siblings?

Yes, discounts are offered for each additional sibling in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

Do you offer financial aid?

Mount Aviat provides financial assistance to families in need through reduced tuition for students in Grades 1 to 8. An independent company conducts a financial assessment through an online application process.
