Students at Mount Aviat are offered learning beyond the classroom through exposure to and participation in a wide variety of extracurricular activities.

 

Student Ambassadors

Students in 7th and 8th grade welcome guests and visitors and act as tour guides at Open House, as well as throughout the year.

 

Robotics

Middle school students meet weekly to learn programming, computer science, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.

 

Future City

Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade create a city in the future that resolves a particular citywide sustainability issue. This is accomplished through brainstorming, researching, designing, and building the city.

 

Service Club

Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade meet monthly to plan service related activities. Such activities include visits to an assisted living facility, food drives, bake sales, car washes, and a school wide morning of service.

 

Choir

Upper school students may participate in Choir, which includes leading the school in song during monthly masses and special events.

 

Band

Students in 4th grade learn about their instruments and how to read music in Beginner Band. Students in 5th through 8th grade move to Advanced Band, playing more challenging music, such as marches, television & movie compositions, and classical works. Band performs for Christmas & Spring concerts, school masses, and special events.
